About us *
COGNI is an officially registered student organization affiliated with Cornellβs Cognitive Science Department. We are open to students of all majors who are interested in understanding the mind through disciplines such as neuroscience, psychology, computer science, AI, linguistics, philosophy, and more.
Members can participate in one of two subteams. Our Research Interview Subteam conducts interviews with professors, faculty, and student researchers. They publish articles on our website to help other students learn about ongoing research at Cornell and how to get involved.
The Independent Research Team works on individual mini-research projects. They conduct literature reviews and data analysis to answer a research question of their interest. Then, they write a mock research paper (evaluated by a student board of peer reviewers), with an opportunity to present at the May 2026 Cognitive Science Colloquium.
In addition, we host community service projects and other fun social events to bring our members together beyond the classroom.
Information to sign-up for COGNI is in the Join Us/Contact Us page on our website. π©βππ¨βπ
